Camping tips
The Simple Camp Kitchen Checklist
A practical packing list for making good meals without bringing your entire kitchen.

Your cooking setup
Pack a stove suited to your trip, the correct fuel, a lighter, and one backup ignition method permitted at your destination. Add a pot, a skillet if your menu needs one, a lid, and a heat-resistant utensil. Check the stove instructions before travel.
Prep and serving
Bring a small cutting board, a knife with a protective cover, a can opener if needed, a bowl, and a cup for each person. Include a measuring cup, a spoon, and a towel. Pack items together so you can find them in low light.
Food and water storage
Use sturdy food containers, a cooler for perishable ingredients, and enough drinking-quality water for the route and cooking plan. Follow the destination’s specific wildlife-storage requirements; a normal plastic bin is not a substitute for approved wildlife-resistant storage.
Cleanup and pack-out
Bring a wash basin, a little suitable soap, a scrubber, and trash bags. Follow campground directions for wastewater disposal. Pack out scraps and packaging, and leave your cooking space cleaner than you found it.
